Program Notes

aa-bluestate-banner.jpgAs I mentioned the other day, I was fortunate to be invited as the guest on host Jim Wishner’s show The Connection tomorrow morning. Thanks to reader Andy Alt for mentioning the online link. Note, too, that the site requires a Minnesota zip code. If, however, you’re actually in Fearnot, Pennsylvania, or Monkey’s Elbow, Kentucky, and you “inadvertently” enter the incorrect zip, I don’t think Dick Cheney will suddenly knock on your door.

On the same page where one enters his or her zip code to listen, there are buttons to depress for either a Windows user or a Mac user. However, if you happen to be one of the millions of Linux users in the world, you can place this address into your favorite streaming audio player: http://stream.airamericaminnesota.com:8000

Coincidentally, that same address can be used in Windows Media Player or winamp.

That’s impressive, Andy. Though I set a low bar. I thought Linux was a character from the Peanuts.

My favorite Peanuts character is Snoopy.

What’s impressive is that Linux was used for all the special effects in the production of Peanuts.

Just kidding. And yeah, Snoopy was cool, but he’d have had just bit parts if not for Woodstock carrying him.

If you’re like me, you weren’t awake enough yet to listen to the program. I happened to have my stream recorder running, and have made the audio available in mp3 format. You can download it with your favorite bittorrent ( http://www.bittorrent.com/ ) client. The infohash: 912009D8934CB069469054E6CE0D75D9EEB96909 or the Azureus ( http://azureus.sourceforge.net/ ) magnet link: magnet:?xt=urn:btih:SEQATWETJSYGSRUQKTTM4DLV3HXLS2IJ or by going to http://www.mininova.org/tor/1280441 (watch out for the ads) but you’ll still need a bittorrent client. The torrent is made up of 6 mp3 files, ordered sequentially, suitable for burning onto a CD if desired.

Wow, Andy, that’s tremendous. My wife thanks you, as she was sick in bed. I would thank you, too, except that if I listen to my own voice I get mad tics.

    Andy,
that’s all a little high tech for this luddite. Will a cassette or reel to reel version be made available? Or could I possibly just order the transcript?

Even I can figure it out, Monkey man.

Mr. Wishner was kind enough to offer to send a CD of the show. As soon as it turns up, I will upload.

If you prefer a transcript please send $99.95, which you can pay in three easy installments.

Problem is, I’ve seen 4 peers waiting to connect for almost day now, but a share ratio of only 1.6. I’ve other torrents seeding fine. Anybody having problems downloading it? Alternatives can be arranged.

This doesn’t sound legal. I planted some grass seed in my yard last summer. It took just fine.
