Working All Weekend
As mentioned a time or two around this site, I’ll start peddling books in person this weekend with two events you might want to check out if you don’t have a better option.
Signing: Minnesota Twins Game
About 25,000 of my closest friends and I will be at the Metrodome before and during the Minnesota Twins-Kansas City Royals game tomorrow night (April 4). I am not sure where I will be stationed — likely at a table in the concourse not far from a hotdog stand. There will be signage. And, an outlet willing, a display of electronic photographs.
Books will be available for purchase at 20 percent off and I will be happy to personalize them. If you have an absent friend who would like a signed copy you’ll be able to place an order that can be shipped.
A ticket is required. Check out the Twins’ handy single-game ticket page for information. Or find a charitable street vendor along Kirby Puckett place. The game starts at 7:10 p.m. I’ll set up around 5 and stick around until there is no more interest or there are no more books — whichever comes first.
Reading & Signing: River City Books
I will read from, discuss and sign copies of Chief Bender’s Burden at 3 p.m., Saturday (April 5) at River City Books.
The event is free and the public is invited to attend. The book is on sale at River City Books for 20 percent off through April 5. I am biased, but RCB is a terrific independent bookstore in historic downtown Northfield. When you find yourself in the neighborhood, poke your head inside and check it out.
Thank You Twins, RCB
I am sincerely grateful to the Minnesota Twins and River City Books for these opportunities. For additional events, click on the Appearances link. Our lives are busy, but if you find time I would be honored to see you at one or another.
