I told him he was supposed to sit next to me and that he couldn't leave until he purchased a copy. Torture is now legal in this country, is it not?

Thanks so much for buying a copy, cycledork, and for the kind words. I highly value your opinion. You are the second to admit interest in the biblio essay -- and that's two more than I expected. A pleasant surprise. I profited immensely from the efforts and kindness of so many writers, researchers, librarians and archivists, and I sincerely tried to recognize the assistance I received.

So where was his seat?

My mail-ordered-from-Northfield copy arrived last week. I've started but not yet finished. So far so good. Man is it polished. I'm looking forward to the bibliographic essay. Seriously. Those are hard to write and yours is meaty.
