There Will Be Cookies
If you’re in the neighborhood and can tear yourself away from American Idol, I hope you will stop by Monkey See-Monkey Read tomorrow (Thursday) night.
Starting at 7 p.m., I will read from and discuss “Chief Bender’s Burden” as attendees nibble on homemade cookies and sip from tasty beverages. After I finish talking and answering candy-induced questions I will personalize copies of the book, which will be on sale for 20 percent off the cover price.
If you’ve never been, Monkey See is a terrific used and new independent bookstore that provides a great venue for readings. The store even has separate nooks for the kiddies. I am grateful to owner and book expert Jerry Bilek for hosting this event. Bilek has been pushing “Chief Bender’s Burden” almost as hard as I have been these past weeks.
Of course, the event is free and no purchase is required. If you do nothing else, feel free to poke your head in the door and have a cookie.
