If Only My Powers Did Some Good
For reasons I won’t bore you with, I am temporarily away from the homestead. I’m in the Deep South, a landscape dominated by churches as large shopping malls and (coincidentally?) every fast-food chain you can think of and at least a few you cannot. The redeeming value of this temporary fix is that in the home state it’s cold enough freeze your mind. Here I can wear one layer instead of five. Last night, I made sure to mention this fact to a freezing Minnesota friend. This morning, I saw this view out my window — the locals are saying it’s first time in a decade it has snowed in these parts. I will never brag about weather again.
