He Shoots … He Scores!
I have learned that during Saturday’s signing I will face off against another author: Lou Nanne.
If you live in Minnesota and you can explain what it means to ice a puck you know the name Nanne. He was an All-American for the University of Minnesota and a defensive stalwart for the Minnesota North Stars. After he retired as a player he built many of the best teams in Stars history. If you want to know more, check out his book.
When I was a runny-nosed rink rat my older brother once played a game against Mr. Nanne’s son, Marty, himself a fine player. Before the game a few of us were messing around in the State Fair coliseum mezzanine when we spotted Lou. Go get his autograph! I approached and he kindly obliged.
I am sure he also remembers that experience.
