You Could Take It To The Beach
People often ask about the satisfaction of publishing a book and the answer has never been easier. I’ve said it before and I’ll probably say it again: the best reward — more than any positive review and, certainly, more than any monetary gain — has been the gracious reaction from people in different corners of the country. It’s the gentleman who took time out of a July day to send a hand-written letter to say he recommended the book to colleagues. Or those who have contributed a thoughtful reader review for the online world to see. This week, another gift. After a columnist at the Billings Gazette asked his readers to recommend a summer book, one kind soul, Mark Warfield, considered “Chief Bender’s Burden” worthy of the nod. Thank you doesn’t say enough.
