Knock On One Of Those Trees

As we walked and talked, and the Beast walked and sniffed, the leaves were hard to ignore. Are there more brilliant colors on earth than the yellows and reds of fall? After spending most of last winter in shirtsleeves, I have been bracing for the change of seasons as I brace when I receive my IRA statements. But this year we’re having the most pleasant Minnesota fall I can imagine in a lifetime of Minnesota falls. As the evening moon made an early appearance over tree tops last night, I wondered if there is a place on earth where the air is always this comfortable, this perfect for walking and talking and sniffing.
